为进一步贯彻教育国际化战略,加快建设中国特色世界一流大学进程,浙江大学于2020年启动浙大国际短期项目。

 

浙江大学国际短期项目包含四个板块,其中包括:国际学分课项目、工具类课程、职业规划项目以及精品课项目。

 

国际学分项目在为浙江大学学生提供国际化的高等教育视野,并为国际学生提供体验中国文化和职业发展的机会。项目师资团队由浙江大学优秀教师和来自世界名校的优秀教师组成。本项目设计的基本理念在于,学习不仅限于课堂于国界。因此,项目中除了学分课程本身,还设计了多样化的文化体验、实地考察和企业参访等活动,旨在为学生提供一个全方位的国际学习体验。课程结束后,学生将获得浙江大学课程学分和结业证书。

 

工具类课程在让学生真正掌握统计类工具,并在未来的学习及职业生涯中能熟练运用此类工具。工具类课程将辅助学生系统化学习专业知识,通过实战训练,深化学习效果。同时,工具类课程可以帮助学生在未来的学业及职业发展中建立大数据时代背景下现代统计思维模式。数字化浪潮下,数字化从趋势成为常态,因此本项目希望学生思考如何在迭代更新的数字化时代中,保持竞争力。

 

职业规划项目旨在指导学生在大学阶段进行职业规划,帮助学生明确未来的个人职业发展道路,弥合学业生涯和就业市场之间的差距。该项目根据国内就业形势和企业用人标准,制定出针对性方案,指导学生进行简历、网申及群面准备。通过项目学习,学生将具备专业的职业技能和知识,在求职过程中脱颖而出。

 

精品课项目采用国内外双师资教学和全球先进的大学研究性课程授课方式,学生将与来自世界各地的名校教授共同研究全球性问题或者用全球视角解决区域化问题,在学习知识的同时与教授建立个人联系。该项目旨在帮助学生通过研究性学习获得知识、技能及全球胜任力。在拓展学生全球视野的同时,也为学生提供了有高教育属性和价值的学习体验。同时,项目内的研究经历将为有学术潜力的学生提升未来深造的可能性。

疫情带来的挑战影响到我们的所有计划、希望和梦想,并影响到民间社会的每一个角落。如今,我们比以往任何时候都希望看到全球经济与公共政策是如何相互关联的。本项目旨在教授你在现如今的全球经济挑战下不同维度的解决方案。你将学习如何定义、衡量和记录问题,通过观察国际经济进程,了解和学习从全球到本国不同规模的经济问题是如何形成的。

在这为期三周的课程中,你将研究经济学理论,并探索以下主题:

 

计量经济学:西方失业研究

 

本课题将探索全球疫情应对的案例,分析商业、文化、媒体和其他因素的相互关联如何影响公共政策。在本课程结束之时,你将更好地理解商业和经济是如何加剧或减轻疫情发生的风险,如何帮助企业应对疫情,以及如何理解疫情期国家之间的贸易往来。

Zhejiang University International Short-term Program (ISP)

 

Program Overview

 

Zhejiang University International short-term Program is brought out under the national education opening-up strategy. It follows through with the goal of speeding up the process of building Zhejiang University (ZJU) into a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.

 

The international short-term program of Zhejiang University consists of four sections, including: International Credit Course Program, Handy Courses, Career Planning Program and Selected Course Program.

 

International Credit Course Program is designed to provide an international perspective of higher education for ZJU students and an insight of Chinas culture and career development for students from other countries. The faculty team consists of selected ZJU teachers and teachers from world-renowned universities. One of the most important and engaging aspects of this program is that the learning is not just limited in the classroom. Many cultural activities, field trips and corporate visits are designed to provide students with a wholistic experience. At the end of the program, students will receive academic credits and the certificates of completion.

 

Handy Courses are designed to give students a real grasp of statistical tools and to be proficient in their future studies and careers. This program will assist students to systematically learn professional knowledge and deepen learning results through hands-on training. Meanwhile, handy courses help students to establish modern statistical thinking in the context of the era of big data. Under the digital wave of the modern society, digitalization has become the new norm. Therefore, this program wants students to think about how to stay competitive in the digital age.

 

Career Planning Program is designed to give students a more in-depth focus on preparing for success in and after college. This career-oriented program will help bridge the gap between your degree and the job market. Employers want students and graduates with career readiness skills and knowledge. Therefore, this program gives students insights on how to prepare their resume, online application and group interview, based on studies on Chinese employment situation and standards. By completing this program, we believe the confidence and knowledge students gain will be apparent to potential employers.

 

Selected Course Program aims to provide students with an exploratory learning experience that is truly beneficial. The program combines the world's most advanced research courses from prestigious universities and the rigorous academic management.  The program uses dual faculty, and students work with two professors from different cultural and academic backgrounds on the same topic. Students have the opportunity to study global issues or solve regionalization problems from a global perspective, while connecting to the distinguished professors. We hope to help students gain knowledge, skills and global competence throughout the journey. The research experience students gained in the program will also be beneficial to those who have high academic potentials and want to study further in the field.

  1. SPSS Program:

Courses include basic statistical methods and SPSS software application: Introduction, Statistical description, T-test, Analysis of variance, Chi-square test, Linear regression and correlation, Rank sum test. Through the study of this course, students can master the basic methods of economic statistics and the application skills of SPSS software, cultivate the statistical thinking ability, and can flexibly and correctly use statistics in work.

  1. Program: Foundations using R

This course is an R language training course for undergraduate and graduate students. The purpose of this course is to enable students to use correct statistical methods and use R for data analysis. This course will help students adapt to rapidly evolving job markets by enhancing their self-knowledge and confidence to explore wider career opportunities. Students will create a career development plan, encompassing their career goals, skills and knowledge development for their current and future jobs, and learn how to make the most of their strengths, talents, and experience. students will receive valuable guidance based on practical suggestions, theoretical models and current empirical evidence. Learning includes interviewing skills, setting new learning goals and career visions, and how to write a great resume.

 

4. Selected Course Program

This program combines the teaching modes of one Chinese teacher and one foreign teacher on the same topic, aiming at offering direct and diverse learning experience under different cultural backgrounds. This type of research experience is a special opportunity for students with the potential for academic achievement, to broaden their global vision, strengthen their professional theoretical structures, cultivate their English expressions and improve their research ability.  

 

  1. Economy in the Pandemic Era: A Global Challenge

Background

The challenges created by a pandemic impact all of our plans, hopes, and dreams and reach every corner of civil society. Now more than ever, we see how global economy and public policy are interconnected. This module is designed to teach you about the different dimensions of key global economic challenges and possible solutions. You will learn how problems are defined, measured and recorded, looking at international economic processes to understand how responses are determined across scale, from the global to the local.

 

Topic

Econometrics: unemployment research in Occident.

 

This is a 3-week program. It aims to explore case studies on COVID-19 responses throughout the world and analyze how the interrelated roles of business, culture, media and other systems shape public policy responses. By the conclusion of this course, you will better understand the ways in which business and economy can exacerbate and/or mitigate the risk of a pandemic occurring, help and/or hinder the response to a pandemic, and shape the world that emerges.

 

  1. Chinese Business and economy

Background

This module is designed to develop your understanding of economics and give you an insight into topical issues that influence our everyday lives and the current political climate. During the 3-week program, you'll gain an understanding of the nature of social institutions and economic systems, such as firms and markets, and analyze how individuals and institutions interact to generate outcomes for society as a whole. Through a range of lectures, workshop and group work, you will use a range of interdisciplinary techniques, combining sociology, mathematics and statistics.

Consumption decision and happiness in China

 

The goal of the program is to broaden the knowledge of students of economics, law, political sciences, administration and other related studies on the economic process in China and its effects on business and other aspects of environment, and to point out the advantages and challenges of Chinese economy in everyday life.

Eligibility

High school graduates and above can apply for the program.

Minimum English language proficiency: TOEFL 80, IELTS 6, CET-4 550, CET-6 520 or other equivalent language proficiency (TEM-8 or students who currently study in an English-speaking country).

Maximum enrollments per class: 50 students per class; Qualified applicants will be chosen according to the order of the enrollment (Only for International Credit Course Program).

Maximum enrollments per student: Each student can choose up to 2 courses (Session 1) and 3 courses (Session 2) during the program, in order to guarantee a better learning experience (Only for International Credit Course Program).
